Technical Assistance

NRF Foundation provides technical assistance to employers, community-based organizations, the public workforce system, job training and placement agencies, schools and colleges, and others interested in promoting and developing retail careers. This aligns with NRFF’s efforts, on behalf of the retail industry, to raise awareness and access to a wide range of retail careers, as well as interest in working more closely with employers invested in helping employees reach their career potential.

Technical assistance may include:

• Identifying training and services designed to meet employer needs, including industry-developed classroom training, blended learning and eLearning platform, and national professional certification credentials

• Integrating industry skill standards and certifications in current systems and programs

• Identifying best-practice approaches and models (what works!) in connecting companies with workforce and education partners

• Providing demonstrations of NRFF programs and services

• Developing survey and outreach materials related to available programs and services

• Designing and facilitating presentations for employers and assisting with follow up to secure employer commitments to utilize programs and services

• Identifying career path materials and career advancement strategies for retail and related occupations

• Developing programs for job seekers and employees with management and leadership potential

• Designing programs and materials for special populations, including youth, non-native English speakers, disabled, and older workers
